Our client, a highly regarded Lloyd’s market insurer, is seeking a Qualified Reserving Actuary to join their London-based Actuarial team.

 

This is an ideal role for a Qualified Actuary with strong Reserving experience and a desire to work across specialty lines. You’ll play a key role in delivering reserving analyses and strategic insight across multiple entities, with significant exposure to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quarterly reserving analyses and trust fund valuations across specialty lines.
  • Communicate reserve results and uncertainty to Underwriting, Finance, and Claims stakeholders.
  • Deliver inputs for Solvency II Technical Provisions, IFRS17, and Lloyd’s regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate on deep-dive analyses and provide technical insight into reserving assumptions.
  • Support external stakeholder engagement including auditors, regulators, and reinsurers.
  • Contribute to strategic actuarial projects including business planning, M&A, and reinsurance analysis.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance actuarial efficiency.

 

About You

  • Qualified Actuary with significant reserving experience in the non-life sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s or London Market business preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with ResQ, SQL, VBA or Python advantageous.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to translate technical results into commercial impact.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Collaborative and stakeholder-focused, with a strong sense of professional integrity.
