Our client is seeking an Actuarial Pricing Manager to join their growing General Insurance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Actuarial professional to lead sophisticated analysis, support underwriting performance, and drive innovation across pricing methodologies, data, and modelling approaches.

 

This role would suit a Qualified Actuary or experienced Actuarial professional with a background in Insurance Pricing, Reserving, Capital, or a related technical area. They are also open to considering strong Life Insurance consulting candidates who are looking to apply their technical expertise in a General Insurance Pricing environment.

 

Working closely with Pricing, Underwriting, and wider business stakeholders, you’ll lead the delivery of pricing forecasts, provide insight to support underwriting decisions, and ensure pricing models reflect the latest view of risk. You’ll also play an important role in developing analysts, strengthening pricing capability, and promoting best practice across governance and controls.

Key Responsibilities of the Actuarial Pricing Manager role:

  • Lead the delivery of pricing forecasts, analysis, and insights to support underwriting decisions
  • Develop and enhance pricing approaches, models, and methodologies to improve pricing sophistication
  • Partner with Technical Pricing and wider stakeholders to ensure models reflect the latest view of risk
  • Provide clear interpretation and challenge of pricing outputs, assumptions, and results
  • Maintain strong governance, controls, and reporting standards across pricing activity
  • Present insights to key business forums and support strategic decision-making
  • Lead, coach, and develop pricing analysts, supporting a high-performing team
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, tools, and ways of working

Skills & Experience required for the Actuarial Pricing Manager role:

  • Qualified Actuary or strong Actuarial background
  • Experience within Insurance Pricing, Reserving, Capital, or a related analytical function
  • Strong understanding of Actuarial methods and principles
  • Experience delivering complex analysis and translating insights into business decisions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience managing, mentoring, or developing analysts would be beneficial
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive innovation
