Nearly / Newly Qualified Corporate Advisory Actuary
Our client, a leading Pensions consultancy, is seeking a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary to join its Corporate Advisory team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary to work with a broad range of Corporate clients, providing strategic advice on some of the most important decisions affecting their Defined Benefit pension schemes while also playing a key role in the continued growth of a highly regarded advisory practice.
This position would suit a Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary with strong Defined Benefit Pensions experience who is looking to develop a long-term career within Corporate Advisory. Whether you’re already advising Corporate clients or working in a wider Pensions consulting role and looking to broaden your exposure, this role offers an excellent opportunity to combine technical Actuarial work with client relationship management and business development activities.
Working alongside experienced consultants and industry specialists, you’ll support Corporate clients across a wide range of strategic projects, including Actuarial valuations, Pension scheme endgame planning, surplus and run-on strategies, Corporate transactions and company accounting disclosures. You’ll have the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to clients, helping them navigate an increasingly complex Pensions landscape while continuing to develop your technical and commercial expertise.
The role offers a unique blend of client advisory work and business development activity. Approximately two-thirds of your time will be spent supporting clients and delivering strategic advice, while the remaining time will focus on contributing to sales, marketing and growth initiatives. This provides an excellent platform for ambitious Actuaries looking to build broader commercial experience alongside their technical skills.

Key Responsibilities of the Nearly / Newly Qualified Corporate Advisory role:
- Provide strategic advice to Corporate clients in relation to their Defined Benefit pension arrangements
- Support clients on Actuarial valuations, endgame planning, surplus and run-on strategies, and the pensions aspects of corporate transactions
- Prepare company accounting disclosures and other high-quality client deliverables
- Review and oversee Actuarial calculations and modelling carried out by more junior team members
- Produce and present advice to clients, attending and contributing to client meetings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Corporate clients and other key stakeholders
- Support sales and marketing initiatives across the Corporate Advisory team
- Conduct research on prospective clients and contribute to targeted business development campaigns
- Assist with the development and implementation of client engagement initiatives and analytical tools
- Identify opportunities to add value for clients and support the continued growth of the practice
Skills & Experience required for the Nearly / Newly Qualified Corporate Advisory role:
- Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary
- Strong Defined Benefit Pensions experience
- Excellent Actuarial calculation and modelling skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines
- Experience reviewing the work of junior colleagues or an interest in developing supervisory responsibilities
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Commercial awareness and an interest in business development activities
- Proactive, self-motivated and willing to contribute new ideas
