Our client, a market leader in Risk Transfer Consulting, is looking for a Senior Actuarial Consultant to join their established Risk Transfer team.

 

Working across a diverse client base, you will play a key role in advising clients throughout their de-risking journey, from preparing for the Risk Transfer market through to executing complex transactions.

 

You will take responsibility for, or play a senior role in, a range of transactions and will work closely with Trustees, Sponsors, Insurers, Reinsurers and other transaction advisers. Alongside client delivery, you will have the opportunity to contribute to new business, market initiatives and the continued growth of the team.

 

This position can be based from multiple offices across the UK, with hybrid working offered as standard. Most colleagues spend 2-3 days a week in the office. The Senior Actuarial Consultant role is available on a full-time or part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a senior adviser, or lead adviser, on a range of Pension Risk Transfer transactions, including buy-ins, buy-outs, wind-ups, longevity swaps and other settlement solutions
  • Take responsibility for the successful running and delivery of transactions, ensuring they are delivered effectively and to agreed timescales
  • Advise clients on their broader journey to Settlement, including preparation for approaching the market and assessing the feasibility of potential transactions
  • Build and manage relationships with key transaction stakeholders, including Trustees, Sponsors, Insurers, Reinsurers and other advisers
  • Use your knowledge of the Risk Transfer market to develop and implement appropriate solutions for clients
  • Contribute to new business opportunities, both with existing clients and prospective clients
  • Support market-facing initiatives, propositions and other business development activity
  • Coach, mentor and support junior Actuarial colleagues, helping to develop the next generation of Risk Transfer specialists

About You:

  • Fully Qualified Actuary
  • Proven experience delivering Risk Transfer / Pension Risk Transfer transactions, gained within Pensions Consulting or Life Insurance
  • Strong technical understanding of the Risk Transfer market, with the ability to consider both detailed and wider strategic issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build relationships with a range of senior stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and transactions effectively
  • Comfortable taking ownership and working collaboratively as part of a wider team
  • An interest in contributing to business development and the continued growth of the Risk Transfer proposition
