Our client, a market leader in Risk Transfer Consulting, is looking for an Actuarial Consultant to join their established Risk Transfer team.

 

Working across a diverse client base, you will support the delivery of Pension Risk Transfer transactions and advise clients throughout their de-risking journey. You’ll work alongside experienced transaction advisers and have exposure to a range of high-profile transactions, while taking responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of client work.

 

The role offers the opportunity to develop your experience across the wider Risk Transfer market, working with Trustees, Sponsors, Insurers, Reinsurers and other transaction stakeholders.

 

This position can be based from multiple offices across the UK. Hybrid working is offered as standard, with most colleagues spending 2-3 days a week in the office. The Actuarial Consultant role is available on a full-time or part-time basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior transaction advisers across a range of Pension Risk Transfer transactions, including buy-ins, buy-outs, wind-ups, longevity swaps and other settlement solutions
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running and delivery of transactions, ensuring work is delivered effectively and to agreed timescales
  • Support clients with their journey to Settlement, including preparation for approaching the Risk Transfer market and assessing transaction feasibility
  • Develop relationships with transaction stakeholders, including Trustees, Sponsors, Insurers, Reinsurers and other advisers
  • Apply your knowledge of the Risk Transfer market to help develop appropriate solutions for clients
  • Support new business opportunities and other initiatives across the Risk Transfer team
  • Contribute to marketing and market-facing activity, including industry events and thought leadership
  • Support the development of new strategies and propositions within the Risk Transfer team
  • Coach and support more junior Actuarial colleagues where appropriate

About You:

  • Fully Qualified Actuary or very Nearly Qualified
  • Previous experience of Risk Transfer or BPA transactions, gained within Pensions Consulting or Life Insurance
  • Good technical understanding of the Pension Risk Transfer market
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities across different transactions
  • Comfortable taking responsibility for your own work while working collaboratively within a wider team
  • Ambitious and interested in developing a long-term career within Risk Transfer
