Our client, a leading global insurer with a strong reputation in the Lloyd’s Market, is seeking an Actuarial Reserving Analyst to join their well-established Reserving team in London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Part to Nearly Qualified Actuary with Non-Life reserving experience to develop deep technical skills while gaining high-impact exposure to senior stakeholders across the business. You’ll work across a broad international portfolio, supporting quarterly reserving, IFRS17, Solvency II, and Lloyd’s regulatory reporting.

Why join this insurer?

  • Work in a highly experienced, collaborative actuarial team that values both technical excellence and commercial insight.
  • Exposure to varied lines of business, global entities, and regulatory regimes.
  • Strong career development pathways with opportunities to move across functions or progress into leadership roles.
  • Flexible hybrid working model (typically 2–3 days in office) and a supportive, people-first culture.
  • Full actuarial study support package and competitive performance-based rewards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of quarterly reserving analyses, Solvency II technical provisions, and trust fund valuations.
  • Support the preparation of reports for Lloyd’s and other regulatory/statutory requirements.
  • Perform reconciliation checks and maintain robust documentation of valuation assumptions.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across the business to explain results and uncertainty.
  • Assist in IFRS17 reserving outputs and the Statement of Actuarial Opinion (SAO) process.
  • Contribute to actuarial projects such as business planning, M&A analysis, and process improvements.
  • Liaise with external auditors, reinsurers, and actuarial consultants as required.

About You

  • Part to Nearly Qualified Actuary
  • Ideally 3 years’ non-life reserving experience; Lloyd’s market knowledge highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Excel; experience with ResQ, SQL, VBA, Python or Tableau is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical results to non-actuarial audiences.
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

Benefits

  • 26 days holiday with options to buy/sell additional leave.
  • Private medical insurance and health & wellbeing benefits.
  • Competitive pension and discretionary annual bonus.
  • Full actuarial exam support and professional development opportunities.
