Senior Consulting Actuary – General Insurance
Our client, a leading, partner-led consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence and innovation, is seeking a Senior Consulting Actuary to join their General Insurance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the firm’s growing presence in the General Insurance space.
This position would suit a Qualified Actuary with strong experience in General Insurance, particularly within internal model validation and capital modelling under the Lloyd’s regulatory framework. It’s an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Actuary looking to take on broader management responsibilities and influence the direction of a fast-growing consulting team.
As part of the General Insurance leadership group, you’ll lead and develop the team, support high-profile clients on complex modelling and validation projects, and drive business development and growth initiatives. You’ll have the chance to work directly with senior stakeholders, regulators, and industry leaders, building your profile through networking and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Consulting Actuary role:
- Provide expert Actuarial support to clients across internal model validation, capital modelling, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and manage the General Insurance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
- Contribute to the wider leadership group, implementing strategic initiatives and supporting business growth.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulators, with confidence and clarity.
- Keep abreast of market developments and regulatory changes within the Lloyd’s and wider insurance sector.
- Support business development activities, networking, and participation in industry events.
Skills & Experience required for the Senior Consulting Actuary role:
- Qualified Actuary (FIA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in General Insurance, ideally within the Lloyd’s market.
- Proven expertise in internal model validation and capital modelling.
- Proficiency in R and/or Python advantageous.
- Confident communicator with excellent relationship management and presentation skills.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
