Actuarial Consultant – Pensions and Risk Transfer
Our client is seeking a Qualified Actuary to join their Pensions Consulting team as an Actuarial Consultant. This role offers the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients, from smaller schemes to large £1bn+ arrangements, providing expert advice across the Defined Benefit (DB) pensions market, with exposure to Pensions Risk Transfer (PRT) work.

Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice to Corporate and Trustee pension schemes on a range of DB pensions issues including valuations, member options, and pensions accounting
- Coordinate and review Actuarial calculations and advice prepared by junior team members
- Support and play an active role in Pensions Risk Transfer transactions, including liaising and negotiating with insurers and attending meetings
- Act as a key contact on client work, supporting delivery and managing queries
- Work collaboratively with specialist teams (e.g. GMP equalisation, longevity, CDC)
- Attend client meetings and industry networking events
- Mentor and support the development of junior Actuarial staff
Skills & Experience Required:
- Fully Qualified Actuary
- Prior experience within the UK DB Pensions Consulting environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
No prior PRT experience is required – full training will be provided.
