Senior Pricing Analyst – Personal Lines
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Pricing Analyst to join a growing Pricing function. As a Senior Pricing Analyst you will assist with pricing to enhance customer outcomes, contribute to the insurance strategy and overall profitability of the function.
Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Pricing Analyst (or Pricing Analyst looking to take a step up) with a track record of Personal Lines pricing across Motor, Home, Pet, Travel or Private Medical Insurance.
Working closely with a Pricing Manager, you will develop and implement complex solutions to continuously enhance pricing strategies.
In this role, you will also have the opportunity to explore new technologies and contribute to strategic changes, such as advancing model sophistication and applying the latest data science techniques for profitable growth.
This role emphasises research and development, ideal for a self-motivated individual with the desire to drive complex projects from concept to implementation. Additionally, a generous study package will be provided to support your journey toward Actuarial qualification if you are studying.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Pricing Analyst:
- Analyse and interpret business data to identify market trends, product opportunities, and emerging rating factors, using advanced techniques like machine learning.
- Lead pricing strategy by leveraging expertise in insurance pricing and data, providing subject matter support on strategic projects.
- Develop and implement pricing models using tools like Radar, ensuring adherence to pricing fairness and data usage policies.
- Collaborate closely with in-house underwriters on joint insurance initiatives, offering pricing support for business changes and ensuring alignment with group objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of pricing changes post-implementation, recommending adjustments and further investigations as needed.
- Produce reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate analysis results to stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of methodologies.
- Support the learning and development of pricing analysts and assist with testing price-related IT changes as required.
Experience required:
- As a Senior Pricing Analyst, extensive experience in personal lines, particularly in Motor, Home, Travel, or Private Medical Insurance, is essential.
- You should possess a deep understanding of General Insurance pricing processes, with strong numerical and statistical skills.
- Proficiency in any modelling software like Radar, Emblem, and programming languages such as SQL, R, or Python is crucial, along with a solid grasp of regulatory requirements in pricing.
- You should be a proactive, enthusiastic problem solver with excellent analytical abilities, capable of identifying and interpreting complex data insights.
- Experience with actuarial pricing, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques is highly advantageous.
- In addition, strong communication and influencing skills are essential. You should be well-organised, with the ability to manage time and documentation efficiently.
- Experience in collaborating with teams to influence decisions and convey complex concepts clearly is highly valued.
