Scheme Actuary – Boutique Consultancy
Our client, a partner-led Consultancy, is looking for a Qualified Pensions Actuary to join their growing Pensions Consulting team as a Scheme Actuary. This opportunity is open to existing Scheme Actuaries who want to undertake a new challenge, as well as Qualified Pensions Actuaries looking to step up into a Scheme Actuary role. Leading on your own portfolio of clients you will be responsible for providing advice and updates to the schemes under your remit.
This Partner-led Consultancy focuses on providing high quality advice to clients, with no billable hours targets. Employee wellbeing and work-life balance are at the heart of the company culture and as such they have an enviable staff retention rate.
The Scheme Actuary position can be offered from multiple offices across the UK. Hybrid working is offered as standard, with most colleagues spending 2 days a week in the office.
The Scheme Actuary role can be offered as a full-time position, or on a part-time basis.
Responsibilities of the Scheme Actuary:
- Advising a range of clients within the existing client base
- Prospecting new business to support the business development plans of the company
- Working with collaboratively with colleagues to provide well-rounded advice on a range of current and emerging issues
- Reviewing and signing off on work produced by more junior colleagues
- Leading client meetings, acting as day-to-day point of contact and managing the delivery of client work
- Opportunities to mentor, train and manage Actuarial colleagues
Skills/Experience Required for the Scheme Actuary:
- Qualified Actuary with a Scheme Actuary Practicing Certificate
- Experience advising clients as a Scheme Actuary
- Strong communication skills
