Actuarial Consultant – Partner-led Consultancy
Our client, a highly regarded partner-led consultancy, is seeking an Actuarial Consultant to join their DB Pensions Consulting team in the South West.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Part Qualified or Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary with strong technical skills—particularly in a ‘checker’ role—to step into a broader consulting position. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of work across both standard and bespoke DB pensions projects, supporting client delivery and progressing toward taking on lead responsibilities.

The role can be based from a number of South West office locations, with hybrid working as standard—typically 2 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide actuarial advice to Trustee and Corporate DB pension schemes on topics including GMP equalisation, risk transfer, member options, and investment strategy
- Review valuations, calculations, and deliverables completed by junior team members
- Support more senior consultants on large client accounts, and potentially take the lead on smaller schemes
- Attend client meetings and contribute to broader project and business development initiatives
- Mentor and support junior actuarial colleagues
About You:
- Part Qualified or Nearly/Newly Qualified Actuary
- Prior experience in DB pensions consulting, ideally in a checker/reviewer capacity
- Detail-oriented with strong technical and communication skills
- Eager to grow into a client-facing role and take on more responsibility
