Our client, a highly regarded consultancy with a strong reputation for culture, staff retention, and internal progression, is seeking a Qualified Actuary to join their Pensions Consulting team as an Actuarial Consultant.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse client portfolio—including household names and FTSE 100 companies—providing strategic advice on a range of DB pension issues such as GMP, Risk Transfer, Member Options, and Investment strategy.

You’ll be joining a team that actively supports development and offers a genuine, achievable path to partnership in the short to medium term.

The role can be full-time or part-time, with hybrid working available—most colleagues spend 2 days a week in the office.

Why join this consultancy?

  • Work with an enviable client base across sectors and sizes
  • Progress toward partnership with structured support and development
  • Join a company known for its inclusive culture, flexibility, and low staff turnover
  • Take advantage of hybrid working and part-time options to support work-life balance
  • Collaborate with talented professionals across actuarial, investment, and risk disciplines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice to Trustee and Corporate DB pension scheme clients on a range of issues including GMP, de-risking, member options, and investments
  • Review valuations and calculations performed by junior colleagues
  • Act as day-to-day contact for clients—managing queries, providing updates, and ensuring quality service
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings alongside senior consultants
  • Mentor and support development of junior actuarial team members
  • Opportunity to explore internal secondments into other specialist teams

About You:

  • Qualified Actuary (newly qualified or with a few years PQE)
  • Experience in DB pensions consulting (trustee or corporate side, or both)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive, collaborative mindset with strong technical and commercial awareness

Benefits:

  • 26 days holiday, with the option to buy or sell days
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Competitive Pension Plan
  • Annual performance-based bonus
  • Team socials and events
  • A wide range of additional flexible benefits
  • Hybrid working—typically 2 days per week in the office
  • Part-time and flexible working options available
